Flowocean participates in a three-year research projects lead by Mälardalens University
Flowocean is one of the partners and co-financiers in the FREE project at Mälardalen University. Main financier is the Knowledge Foundation.
The aim of FREE (Feasibility of Renewable Energy Integrated with Energy Storage in Buildings) is to carry out feasibility study of renewable energy integrated with energy storage into municipal, recreational, and industrial buildings. The primary goal is to provide a complete package solution, which can be used for the pilot or demonstration in a real application. Expected outcomes of the project consist of cutting-edge innovative technology solutions, implementation guidelines and tools, novel business models and strategic impacts on mitigation of climate change.
Flowocean will mainly contribute with knowledge of intermittent power generation and how to integrate it to the electrical system. Cristoffer Kos will be Project Manager for Flowocean and is excited about the project.
"We look forward to contributing with our knowledge and make new valuable contacts in this interesting project. New innovative solutions for energy storage, and integration with renewable energy sources such as wind power, are important. We see that there is a lot we can do together with universities and other companies."
